1. Introduction

MKTECHSUPPORT is committed to providing repair and technical services with reasonable care, skill and quality.

We offer a complimentary three-month workmanship warranty on qualifying repairs and technical services.

This policy explains the additional warranty, what it covers, how to submit a claim and how it relates to your rights under South African law.

2. Warranty Period

The complimentary workmanship warranty lasts for three calendar months from the date the qualifying repair or technical service is completed.

The applicable service completion date may be confirmed by the repair record, invoice or other written confirmation issued by MKTECHSUPPORT.

This three-month period applies only to our additional commercial workmanship warranty.

It does not shorten or replace any longer protection provided by law.

3. Qualifying Repairs and Services

The warranty may apply to qualifying repair or technical service work performed directly by MKTECHSUPPORT, including:

  • Approved computer and laptop repairs.
  • Qualifying hardware installation work.
  • Approved component replacement labour.
  • Qualifying maintenance and servicing.
  • Other technical work expressly covered in the applicable service record.

Coverage depends on the nature of the service performed and whether the reported problem is attributable to the original workmanship.

A diagnostic assessment alone does not automatically mean that an unrelated existing fault is covered.

4. What the Workmanship Warranty Covers

The additional warranty covers qualifying defects caused directly by the workmanship originally performed by MKTECHSUPPORT.

Examples may include:

  • Incorrect installation performed during the original repair.
  • An improperly secured component attributable to our service.
  • A repeat issue directly caused by an error in the original qualifying workmanship.
  • Other defects confirmed to arise from the original covered work.

Where a claim qualifies, MKTECHSUPPORT will provide an appropriate remedy without charging again for the covered workmanship.

5. What the Additional Warranty Does Not Cover

The three-month commercial workmanship warranty does not automatically cover:

  • Faults unrelated to the original work performed.
  • New accidental or liquid damage occurring after the repair.
  • Damage caused by misuse or unauthorised alterations after service completion.
  • Ordinary wear and tear unrelated to defective workmanship.
  • New malware infections or software problems unrelated to the original service.
  • Pre-existing defects that were not part of the approved repair.

These exclusions relate only to the additional commercial warranty and do not override statutory consumer protections.

6. Replacement Parts and Components

Replacement parts may carry applicable manufacturer, supplier or statutory warranty protection separate from this additional workmanship warranty.

Under section 57 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, qualifying new or reconditioned parts installed during repair or maintenance work, and the labour required to install them, carry a statutory warranty of at least three months, subject to the provisions of that section.

That statutory warranty operates independently of MKTECHSUPPORT's complimentary workmanship warranty.

Any longer manufacturer, supplier or statutory protection that applies remains unaffected.

For more information, see our Product Warranty Policy.

7. Your Statutory Consumer Rights

This complimentary warranty is provided in addition to the rights available under applicable South African consumer law.

The Consumer Protection Act includes protections relating to the quality of services, the installation of qualifying replacement parts and remedies for defective goods.

Different statutory rights and periods may apply depending on whether the issue concerns goods, replacement parts, repair labour or the quality of a service.

Nothing in this policy restricts or removes any statutory remedy to which a customer is entitled.

8. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

If you experience a problem after a qualifying repair, contact MKTECHSUPPORT as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide the following information where available:

  • Your name and contact details.
  • The repair booking or reference number.
  • The original repair or invoice date.
  • A description of the reported fault.
  • Relevant photos or supporting details, where helpful.

Contact our support team through the Contact page or email info@mktechsupport.co.za .

9. Warranty Assessment

MKTECHSUPPORT may request an inspection or diagnostic assessment to establish the cause of the reported problem.

We will consider the original service record, the condition of the equipment and the nature of the fault.

If the problem is covered by the applicable warranty or a statutory remedy, the customer will not be charged for the remedy that must be provided without charge.

If the problem is unrelated and separate chargeable work is proposed, the relevant charges will be disclosed and approval obtained before proceeding.

10. Warranty Remedies

Where a defect is covered by our complimentary workmanship warranty, MKTECHSUPPORT will arrange an appropriate corrective service.

The remedy may involve repeating or correcting the original work without an additional charge for the covered workmanship.

Where a statutory consumer remedy applies, the customer retains the choices and remedies provided by the relevant legislation.

The commercial warranty will not be used to restrict a customer's legal entitlement to a refund or another applicable statutory remedy.

11. Repairs or Changes by Third Parties

If equipment is modified or repaired by another service provider after the original MKTECHSUPPORT repair, this may affect our ability to determine the cause of a subsequent problem.

A third-party intervention does not automatically cancel every warranty right.

Coverage will depend on the circumstances, the cause of the fault and applicable law.

12. Customer Data During Warranty Repairs

Warranty assessments may require access to equipment, operating systems or storage components.

Customers are encouraged to back up important data whenever reasonably possible.

MKTECHSUPPORT will exercise reasonable care when handling customer equipment and personal information.

Where an authorised repair may affect stored information, relevant risks will be communicated where appropriate.

Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

13. Repair Records and Proof of Service

Customers should retain their invoice, repair confirmation or reference number where reasonably possible.

These records help us identify the original work and process warranty enquiries efficiently.

Where MKTECHSUPPORT can reasonably verify a transaction through its own records, the absence of a printed invoice will not automatically invalidate a statutory warranty claim.

14. Warranty Limitations

The additional workmanship warranty applies to qualifying work performed by MKTECHSUPPORT.

It is not a guarantee that every component of a device will remain free from all future faults.

The warranty is limited to defects attributable to the covered workmanship, subject to the customer's statutory rights.

Nothing in this policy excludes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Complaints and Disputes

Customers who disagree with a warranty assessment may request an explanation of the findings.

MKTECHSUPPORT will make reasonable efforts to review the concern and resolve it fairly.

Customers retain the right to approach an applicable consumer protection body, ombud or court where permitted by law.

16. Policy Updates

MKTECHSUPPORT may update this Workmanship Warranty Policy to reflect operational changes or legal requirements.

Any update will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired under an existing warranty or applicable law.

The effective date and version displayed on this page identify the published policy version.
